Line Cook As line cook you will be part of creating the Great Cape Baking Cafe at Hancock Shaker Village experience for visitors and fellow employees. The Line Cook will have a thorough understanding of all items on the menu and daily specials, ensure spoiled or damaged serving utensils are not used and watch particularly for cracked or chipped China, glassware; prevent the use of contaminated products in any phase of food preparation, and ensure all government, safety, health, and security standards are always complied with.

Your Roll:

• Worker will ensure all dishes are uniform made to specifications set out by management.
• Responsible for the quality of all food items prepared in the kitchen and ensures standard recipes are being followed on a consistent basis.
• Assist with preparations of items to include but not limited to chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen throughout the day with light housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, cleaning counters, garbage disposal and dishwashing.
• Demonstrate sense of urgency for responding to guest needs during all interactions.
• Perform daily stocking and re-stocking of all kitchen items as needed throughout the day with raw materials and ingredients.
• Assist with inventory counts as requested by management.
• Ensure all government, safety, health, and security standards are complied with.
• Monitor expiration of perishable items and inspect ingredients prior to use.
• Report any safety or maintenance concerns promptly to management.
• Ensure daily opening and closing responsibilities are completed accurately and consistent with standard operations procedure.
• Maintain good communication and interpersonal skills with co-workers.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints regarding food service.
• Train employees in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness standards in the BOH.
• Safety conscious at all times to avoid injury to self and others.
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high standard of service.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to visitors and team members.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than six (6) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attend department meetings and trainings, as necessary.

Pay:

\$20.00 per hour and up based on experience. Additional opportunity to work on-site catered special events. All employees will receive a 10% discount on merchandise at Hancock Shaker Village Store.
