Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled, experienced cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a cook, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by preparing ingredients, assisting in menu planning, and ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards. Responsibilities Prepare and chop vegetables, meats, and other ingredients as required for daily menus. Grill and sauté menu items Assist in the assembly of dishes and ensure that all food is presented attractively. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards. Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery. Follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency in food quality. Participate in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or improvements based on seasonal ingredients. Assist in training new kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques. Weekly Food Ordering Qualifications Previous experience in food handling or food service within a restaurant or similar catering environment is preferred. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential. ServSafe and allergen awareness certifications required. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Familiarity with dietary department standards is a plus. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in meal preparation.
