The Lead Cook will collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional menu, perfectly complementing our award-winning beers. Lead Cook Job Description As the Lead Cook at Silver Branch, you will be instrumental in providing a world-class culinary experience to our fans, solidifying Silver Branch's reputation as a premier brewery and taproom destination in Montgomery County, Maryland. This position involves elevating standards of organization and cleanliness within the Silver Branch Rockville Beerworks kitchen and ensuring the timely delivery of food to our guests. You will cultivate an efficient work environment, ensuring the consistent production of high-quality dishes that cater to a wide range of dietary needs and delight our guests. As our food sales continue to grow, you will be responsible for increasing output while maintaining quality and efficiency. In this capacity, you will represent Silver Branch and are expected to conduct yourself professionally, embodying our organizational values and commitment to teamwork. Lead Cook Responsibilities Prepping ingredients, components and recipes Prepare recipes to order for timing, quality, and consistency Maintain a clean, safe, stocked, and organized workstation according to company standards, health department regulations and manufacturer specifications Participate in team tasks including but not limited to: prepping. cleaning and organizing, opening and closing the kitchen, receiving orders, etc. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers. Complete other duties as assigned in support of the business Assist with catering events as needed Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications Two plus years of proven work experience as a Prep Cook or Line Cook Experienced on multiple stations, for example: prep, sauté, pizza, and/or garde manger High degree of familiarity with kitchen operations and the value it brings Strong communication and teamwork skills Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations Ability to understand communication and/or speak Spanish a plus Physical Requirements Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat on a frequent basis to receive and store stock, supplies and equipment as well as to work the line during service periods Can meet physical demands of position including pulling, pushing, carrying, lifting, standing for extended periods of time Must be able to lift, handle, carry food, smallware's, equipment, supplies and paper goods at a minimum of 50 pounds constantly and up to 100 pounds occasionally Must be able to work in an environment subject to extreme cold 30 degrees, heat temperatures above 100 degrees, loud noises from restaurant equipment and machinery, and fumes Work early, long hours with flexibility and the ability to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary to ensure product delivery
