Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in food preparation and safety. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall dining experience of our guests. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and standards. Perform food handling tasks, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all food served. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to support menu planning and execution. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, adhering to all operational protocols. Assist with catering events as needed, ensuring timely meal preparation and presentation. Participate in inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service is essential. Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations is required. Experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is highly desirable. Strong knife skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques are beneficial. Prior experience in catering or serving will be considered an asset.
