Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic person to join our Assisted Living team. This vital role involves providing exceptional food service and culinary support to residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met with care and professionalism. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for food preparation, a strong understanding of dietary requirements, and a commitment to creating a warm, welcoming environment. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing residents' quality of life through delicious, nutritious meals served with compassion and attention to detail. Duties Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, menus, and safety standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish. Assist with menu planning by incorporating residents' preferences, nutritional needs, and special diets, including fine dining experiences when appropriate. Handle food preparation tasks such as cooking, braising, poaching, grilling, and food production while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitizing procedures. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support high-volume meal production in a fast-paced environment. Maintain proper food handling techniques, adhere to recipe specifications, and ensure all food safety protocols are followed diligently. Support dietary department operations by assisting with food service, serving residents with respect and professionalism, and ensuring timely meal delivery. Contribute to a clean and organized kitchen environment through regular sanitizing procedures and proper storage practices. Qualifications Previous dietary aide experience or food service experience within assisted living or healthcare settings preferred. Strong culinary skills including familiarity with recipe adherence, knife skills, braising, grilling, poaching, and food preparation techniques. Experience with menu planning and catering is a plus; knowledge of fine dining standards is advantageous. Understanding of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures required for maintaining health standards. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in high-volume production settings. Excellent food handling skills combined with a passion for serving others in a compassionate manner. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is beneficial; culinary experience that emphasizes quality presentation is valued.
