Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Director of Nutrition Services, Food Service Supervisor and the direct Supervision of the Chef, the Cook is responsible for the preparation of foods for all meal service including patients, cafeteria meals and special functions. The Cooks are frequently required to prepare special food items for luncheons, professional meetings, etc. The individual will assist as needed with the ordering of food supplies needed to meet the menu requirements. Individual must maintain high standards of food safety and quality in production and service. The cook's helper supports and assists the cook in food preparation and service of meals. This individual is responsible for the assembly of foods and supplies for supplemental feedings as well as limited food preparation and service of specified menu items. This individual assumes primary responsibility for accurately recording diet orders/diet changes for meal service in accordance with the patient's diet orders. The Individual washes kitchen utensils as needed manually and cleans specified kitchen areas.
