Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors. Assist in meal preparation by slicing, dicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Follow food safety management practices to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all ingredients and equipment. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas through regular cleaning and sanitizing routines. Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production, communicate special requests or dietary restrictions, and ensure timely service. Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods for optimal efficiency. Skills Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service setting; dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of food safety standards in production environments; familiarity with food handling regulations is essential. Excellent knife skills with precise slicing techniques; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining flexibility for special requests or dietary needs. Effective communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members. Knowledge of catering processes, meal preparation, and serving procedures enhances overall performance.
