Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients properly to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on kitchen needs Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to ensure a sanitary environment Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service Adhere strictly to recipe instructions and portion control to ensure consistency across all dishes Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a focus on quality and safety standards Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety management practices Ability to operate kitchen equipment confidently and safely under pressure Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide roles is a plus Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, catering experience, and food industry best practices Attention to detail in following recipes and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization Embark on a culinary journey where your skills make a difference!
