Prep Cook πŸ” Michigan, Port Huron New πŸ“ Service/Support πŸ’Ό Marwood Nursing & Rehab πŸ“…    26001442 Requisition # Apply for Job Share this Job Sign Up for Job Alerts The prep cook is responsible for assisting in preparing, working with and delivering food according to the nutritional needs of the resident while maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation and safety. Prepare ingredients and components for daily menu items, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients. Support cooking activities by organizing supplies and maintaining station cleanliness. Follow food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain proper storage of perishable items and monitor inventory levels for freshness. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and efficient kitchen operations. Ability to lift, push and move equipment, supplies, etc., up to fifty pounds. Ability to use all equipment listed which includes pushing switches, buttons, etc. Ability to measure quantities of foods and liquids. Must be able to move about in tight spaces. Constant standing and walking is required. Frequent bending, lifting, squatting, kneeling also required. Climbs a three foot and/or six foot step ladder. Ability to focus and read resident menus, labels, signs, and to distinguish between different types of food and beverages. High school diploma or GED Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable. Experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or catering setting. Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques. Familiarity with kitchen equipment, food industry practices, and culinary terminology.
