Job Description

The Club at Breakers is the ONLY hotel waterfront restaurant and beach bar in St. Ignace. We deliver lakefront views, delicious libations, and delectable food. We are open to the public and invite everyone to come and enjoy our "club" for the ultimate St. Ignace dining experience. We are currently looking to hire a line cook to prepare delicious and inspired dishes for our guests for the summer season. Duties will include prepping meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, cooking meals, checking ingredients for freshness, and arranging and garnishing the dishes. You will also be helping to ensure that the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained. To be successful in this job, you will need thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation. Culinary school education is preferred, and prior experience in a related position is required.
Note:
This is an hourly, seasonal position of 6 months or less requiring at least 40 hours per week. Overtime premiums will be applied for any hours over 40 worked per week.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare menu dishes to order in keeping with company standards Weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes. Steam, grill, boil, bake or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients. Arrange and garnish dishes so they are visually appealing. Check food and ingredients for freshness, labeling and rotating stock as required. Work well under pressure and within set time limits. Ensure that kitchen area, equipment and utensils are clean and organized Work as a team with all restaurant staff to ensure positive guest experiences
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent At least 2 years prior experience with both hot and cold food preparation Excellent communication skills and positive, team-oriented outlook Working knowledge of current sanitation standards and health codes. Able to solve problems creatively and work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
