Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Assistant Cook to join our team. In this role, you will help prepare, pack, deliver, and serve nutritious meals for programs including Meals on Wheels, adult day services, center meals, and catering events. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, follows food safety standards, and takes pride in providing quality service to the community. Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation, packing, delivery, and service Follow standardized recipes, menus, and production sheets Maintain food safety, sanitation, and temperature control standards Properly store, label, and rotate food using FIFO procedures Monitor and document food temperatures and production records Assist with kitchen cleaning, sanitation, and inventory Support special events and work collaboratively with kitchen staff Attend required trainings and meetings Perform additional duties as assigned by kitchen leadership Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Food Protection Manager Certification preferred Experience in food service or large-quantity meal preparation preferred Ability to follow written recipes and instructions independently Strong communication and basic math skills Excellent customer service and teamwork skills Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 lbs.
