24 per week | Wednesday/ Friday and every other weekend | 10:00am

Sparta Mi What You'll Do:
The Cook prepares and serves high-quality, nutritious meals in a safe and efficient manner while following menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines. This role helps create a positive dining experience for residents by maintaining food quality, cleanliness, and compliance with all food safety standards. The Cook works collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure a well-organized kitchen and excellent service each day. 10 / hour Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals in accordance with established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines. Accommodate special dietary needs and preferences while ensuring excellent food quality and presentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment that meets all food safety standards. Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, mixers, and slicers. Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and portion control procedures. Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and minimizing food waste. Work collaboratively with Dining Services team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Help create a positive dining experience for residents, guests, and staff. Support special events, holiday meals, and other culinary initiatives as needed. Maintain required certifications and comply with all federal, state, local, and organizational regulations. Participate in training, team meetings, and ongoing professional development. Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the Dining Services department. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Preferred:
Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or food service setting. Culinary education or formal culinary training. ServSafe Certification. Allergen Certification. Experience preparing meals for special diets, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets. Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
