Duties Prepare and cook a variety of short order meals quickly and efficiently, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and food prep stations safely and effectively Ensure all food handling and sanitation procedures comply with food safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment Assist in menu planning by suggesting daily specials or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences Maintain high standards of food production, including poaching, braising, grilling, and other cooking techniques to deliver flavorful dishes Manage food portioning and plating to ensure consistency and visual appeal in every meal served Support the dietary department by understanding dietary restrictions and preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs Skills Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, proper food handling practices, and kitchen safety protocols Skilled in operating various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining efficiency during high-volume production periods Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation for diverse dietary requirements Experience with culinary techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production processes Strong knife skills combined with the ability to work quickly without compromising quality or safety standards Previous experience in catering or fine dining settings is a plus, demonstrating versatility in food industry environments
Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
