Line Cook - Full-Time | Hourly Pay + $3-$4/hr Average Tips Colby's Cafe & Brew Do you enjoy working with great food, moving at a fast pace, and being part of a team that takes pride in what they serve? Colby's Cafe & Brew is looking for an experienced Full-Time Line Cook to join our kitchen team. We're a locally owned café and coffee shop focused on quality food, genuine hospitality, and creating a great experience for both our guests and our team. This is a hands-on kitchen position for someone who is dependable, organized, works well under pressure, and cares about doing things the right way. Weekend availability is required, including Sundays. Your responsibilities will include:
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards Complete prep work and maintain appropriate ingredient levels for service Follow proper portioning, cooking, plating, and presentation standards Work efficiently and accurately during busy breakfast and lunch service Coordinate with other kitchen and front-of-house team members to keep orders moving Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation Follow proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and temperature-control procedures Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards Help with opening, closing, cleaning, and other kitchen responsibilities as assigned Communicate proactively with teammates and leadership when problems arise Contribute to a positive, respectful, team-oriented kitchen environmentWhat We're Looking For Required:
At least 2 years of kitchen, restaurant, or food-service experience. With at least 1 year of experience cooking on the line. Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and food preparation Ability to accurately follow recipes, portion standards, and procedures Dependable attendance and punctuality Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to stay organized and productive during high-volume periods Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties of a kitchen position Availability to work weekends, includingSundays Preferred:
ServSafe or other food-safety certification Schedule This is a full-time position with a schedule that may include opening, closing, weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs. Sunday availability is required.
