Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every plate Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and knives Follow food safety procedures diligently, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices to meet health regulations Assist with meal prep, portioning ingredients, slicing techniques, and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate orders, communicate effectively, and uphold a smooth workflow Maintain cleanliness of workstations by cleaning utensils, equipment, and surfaces regularly throughout shifts Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient quality and preparation methods Requirements Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting; dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food handling procedures Skilled in culinary techniques such as knife skills, slicing methods, and recipe adherence Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively Prior catering or food service experience is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential Embark on a rewarding culinary journey where your skills make a real impact!
