Location:
Pelican Landing Senior Living Hours:
Part-time 6am
  • 2pm/11am
  • 7pm As a Cook, you'll do more than prepare meals—you'll create moments of comfort and joy.
Your role includes crafting nutritious, appealing dishes that meet dietary needs and reflect resident preferences. Working closely with the Dietary Director, you'll uphold food safety standards and help deliver a dining experience that feels like home. What You'll Do:
1. Meal Preparation & Quality
  • Prepare meals according to standardized recipes and menu cycles.
  • Ensure food is visually appealing, palatable, and served at appropriate temperatures.
  • Adhere to portion control standards.
  • Meet dietary needs of residents as directed. 2. Sanitation & Food Safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen and work area.
  • Follow proper food handling practices and safety protocols.
  • Store food items in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist with daily and weekly cleaning schedules. 3. Inventory Support & Waste Control
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, and storing food deliveries.
  • Report low stock items to the Dietary Director.
  • Practice proper food rotation and monitor expiration dates.
  • Minimize waste through careful preparation and storage. 4. Resident Interaction & Satisfaction
  • Demonstrate respect and positive engagement with residents.
  • Accommodate individual preferences within dietary guidelines.
  • Respond professionally to resident feedback and concerns.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
1+ year experience in a commercial or healthcare kitchen preferred.
Certifications:
Food Handler's Permit (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Skills:
