Job Description

Location:
Pelican Landing Senior Living Hours:
Part-time 6am- 2pm/11am
- 7pm As a Cook, you'll do more than prepare meals—you'll create moments of comfort and joy.
What You'll Do:
1. Meal Preparation & Quality- Prepare meals according to standardized recipes and menu cycles.
- Ensure food is visually appealing, palatable, and served at appropriate temperatures.
- Adhere to portion control standards.
- Meet dietary needs of residents as directed. 2. Sanitation & Food Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen and work area.
- Follow proper food handling practices and safety protocols.
- Store food items in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with daily and weekly cleaning schedules. 3. Inventory Support & Waste Control
- Assist with receiving, labeling, and storing food deliveries.
- Report low stock items to the Dietary Director.
- Practice proper food rotation and monitor expiration dates.
- Minimize waste through careful preparation and storage. 4. Resident Interaction & Satisfaction
- Demonstrate respect and positive engagement with residents.
- Accommodate individual preferences within dietary guidelines.
- Respond professionally to resident feedback and concerns.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred.Experience:
1+ year experience in a commercial or healthcare kitchen preferred.Certifications:
Food Handler's Permit (or ability to obtain upon hire).Skills:
