JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing and assisting with the set-up of all food items at Grand Itasca including meals for tray line and cafeteria, catering, and meals-on-wheels while ensuring adequate par levels of all food items. Here's what you'll do when you join us: Reviews daily par levels and conducts all necessary food preparation for the current and next day's needs. Prepare hot food items, ala'cart orders, set-up on heat and demand systems, and cook room service requests. Coordinate and assist with preparation and set-up of cafeteria, room service, meals on wheels and catering requests. Prepares food products to meet quality standards within appropriate time frames and records temperatures of hot food and cooling food down per department standards. Serve cafeteria customers and conducts money transactions accurately for payment using the cash register. Assure trays are prepared and cooked timely according to room service requests and diet orders. Maintains a "clean as you go" attitude demonstrated by a clean work area. Performs routine tasks using customer service skills, showing consideration of patients and other personnel in all service areas. Put away and rotate stock. All other duties assigned by your manager. Secondary training in food preparation and food service or previous experience as cook, salad assistant, caterer, or baker, in an a' la carte setting.
