SALARY:
    Elementary First Cook:
    $21.54 - $22.30/hr
      Secondary First Cook:
      $22.28 - $23.05/hr
      QUALIFICATIONS
      Required
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • 1-3 years' work-related experience
      • Certified Food Protection Manager issued by the Minnesota Department of Health Preferred
      • Bilingual
      • Basic cashiering skills
      • Knowledge of customer service principles
      POSITION SUMMARY
      Under the direction of the Supervisor of Nutritional Services, order, prepare, serve, record, manage, and evaluate menu items for daily breakfast and lunch production while supervising all kitchen staff.
      ESSENTIAL DUTIES
      • Prepare daily work schedules
      • Supervise and direct all kitchen personnel
      • Maintain an organized kitchen environment
      • Hold regular meetings with kitchen personnel
      • Train new personnel
      • Maintain frequent and positive communication with building administration
      • Implement HACCP program procedures
      • Maintain accountability for Health Department licensing
      • Prepare main dishes using standardized recipes
      • Prepare and serve breakfast line items
      • Serve and assist students and staff
      • Monitor student behaviors
      • Replenish food and operate ovens during serving lines
      • Serve foods that reflect and support all student cultures
      • Assist Kitchen Helpers with daily functions as needed
      • Maintain food and supply inventory
      • Check in and stock food and supply shipments
      • Complete daily production records
      • Record information for special functions
      • Maintain updated allergy information and order food according to District allergy guidelines
      • Other duties as assigned
      PHYSICAL FACTORS
        Frequent:
        walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, seeing, repetitive motions, bending, and twisting
        • Lifting up to 40 pounds and/or exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible force constantly to move objects
