Responsible to:
Kitchen Manager Job Summary:
Prepares meals according to meal plan for sister residents of Our Lady of Rickenbach Health Care Center.
Essential Functions:
  • Prepares special diets for special needs: pureed, diabetic, renal, low sodium, and other medically specified diets.
  • Keeps Kitchen Manager informed of groceries and supplies needed
  • Prepares and serves meals to appropriate dining areas in a timely manner and attractive presentation
  • Demonstrates good stewardship in the responsible use of food stuff and creative use of leftovers.
  • Keeps dietary area clean and sanitary. Maintains kitchen equipment in clean and working order, reporting any problems to the Kitchen Manager.
  • Adapts to special occasions by preparing special meals and activity snacks when needed.
  • Assists with other duties as requested by
Administrator or Kitchen Manager Requirements:
  • Able to stand for long hours, frequent bending, stooping
  • Prefer some knowledge of food preparation
  • Able to lift 25-50 lbs. without restrictions.
  • Able to adapt to emergencies or changes in day-to-day plan
  • Able to take instructions from the Kitchen Manager or their designee
  • Good time management skills
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
