A Cook prepares food in a restaurant or institutional kitchen. May be responsible for a specific station or type of food preparation in a larger kitchen, or specialize as a short-order or fast-food cook. May prepare meals in private homes, or cater parties.
LaChance Hillsboro is looking for an experienced, dependable Grill Cook to join our growing kitchen team. We are a busy, full-service restaurant focused on quality food, consistency, and providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working a fast-paced line, takes pride in their work, and understands that great food starts with proper preparation and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
Working the grill station during lunch and dinner service Preparing steaks, burgers, chicken, seafood, and other menu items to proper temperatures and specifications Maintaining consistent quality, portioning, and presentation Setting up and stocking your station before service Keeping your station clean, organized, and ready throughout the shift Following proper food handling, sanitation, and food-safety procedures Communicating and working closely with the rest of the kitchen team Assisting with prep, cleaning, and closing responsibilities as needed Performing well during high-volume service while maintaining quality and accuracy What we're looking for: Previous grill or line-cook experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should be dependable, organized, comfortable working under pressure, and able to communicate well with the rest of the kitchen. We want someone who takes ownership of their station, shows up ready to work, and wants to be part of a professional kitchen team.
