Job Description

We run the Kon Tiki Room in Kansas City. It has a small, dialed-in kitchen putting out solid food to back up our cocktail room. We have our full-time guy holding down the core shifts, and we need a couple of reliable part-timers to team up with him for the weekend push. If you already have a weekday day job or another gig and just want 15 to 20 consistent hours every weekend, this will fit your schedule perfectly. The Reality of the Line Our kitchen is small, simple, and manageable. On Friday and Saturday nights, it is strictly a two-man setup. When the bar gets packed, you and your partner put your heads down, communicate, knock out tickets, and keep the rail clear. When the rush dies down, you wipe down your station, restock your line, and keep things tight. You do not need to overcomplicate it. The Schedule and Hours We are looking for roughly 15 to 20 hours per week covering
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday:
Friday & Saturday:
Evening into late night. We open at 4:00 PM and cook until 1:00 AM. Shift start times range between 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM depending on prep needs and line coverage.
Sunday:
Possible earlier opening shift to handle prep and line setup. Possible 3-7pm.
Weekday:
Potential for one weekday shift if you want extra hours, but weekends are the main priority. What We Expect Basic line experience. You know how to work a ticket rail, keep your station clean, and handle a flat top or fryer without getting rattled. Weekend reliability. If you commit to Friday and Saturday nights, you show up on time, sober, and ready to work. We run a two-man line on weekends; if you flake, you screw your teammate over. Team-first attitude. You work side-by-side with our full-time cook. No big egos or drama, just good communication and getting food out the window hot and fast. If you want a dependable weekend cooking gig with steady hours in an independent room, apply below. Tell us a little bit about your current situation and why these specific weekend hours work for you.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week Application Question(s): Why do you think this job is a good fit for you?
