We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Dietary Cook to join our food services team. The Dietary Cook will prepare and serve nutritious, appetizing meals that adhere to specific nutritional guidelines, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting the health and well-being of our residents through high-quality food preparation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation:
Prepare and cook meals, snacks, and special items according to standardized recipes, production sheets, and planned menus.
Safety & Sanitation:
Maintain a sanitary and safe work area, monitoring food temperatures, and ensuring proper food handling.
Inventory & Storage:
Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to prevent waste.
Cleaning:
Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and utensils during and after shifts.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in quantity cooking or food preparation. Ability to read, write, and follow detailed oral and written instructions. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs. and push/pull carts. Exposure to high temperatures (ovens) and freezing temperatures (walk-in freezers).
