Job Description

East Missouri Action Agency has an opening for a Cook Aide in Head Start . This position assists the Cook in ensuring that USDA guidelines and Head Start nutrition guidelines are met. Cook Aides are responsible for assisting other staff and maintaining a clean, safe and healthy center environment for the children. This position will assist in planning and preparing meals as well keeping the kitchen, dishes, dining area and bathrooms clean. Applicants must be 18 or older. Candidates should have enough training and experience in food preparation and nutrition to demonstrate the capability to operate a kitchen and manage food serving operations for a center the size to which they're assigned. Must be able to stand, walk and stoop for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 35 pounds easily and be able to work around loud noise. Must receive and pass an annual physical and TB test and have had the Hepatitis A shot. Good attendance is required.
