Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu plans, ensuring consistency and quality. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to strict sanitation standards and food safety regulations. Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure freshness. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service times for smooth operations. Support dietary department initiatives by understanding specific dietary needs and assisting dietary aides as needed. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and operating commercial kitchen equipment. Strong knowledge of food safety standards, handling procedures, and sanitation practices. Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal presentation. Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep. Background in dietary aide or dietary department work is highly desirable. Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and team members to ensure seamless service delivery. Familiarity with catering or restaurant environments enhances your ability to adapt quickly in dynamic settings.
