Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Cook, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nutritional care to our residents. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist in meal preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and support the dietary department's daily operations. Your commitment to workplace safety and excellent customer service will help create a warm, welcoming environment for our residents and staff alike. Duties Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident needs Serve meals to residents, ensuring proper portioning and presentation Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas following food safety protocols Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including stove tops, ovens, mixers, and dishwashers Adhere to all dietary requirements for residents, including special diets and allergies Support food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with MSDH health standards. Assist with cleaning dishes, and maintaining a tidy dietary enviroment Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly during all food handling activities and manual lifting tasks Requirements Previous cooking experience in nursing home preferred but not required. Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and sanitation practices preferred but not required On the job training provided Ability to work efficiently with geriatric patients and understand their specific dietary needs Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and adhering to safe lifting practices for heavy loads Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management Excellent customer service skills to assist residents courteously and professionally Commitment to workplace safety, sanitation standards, and proper use of PPE Join us in making a meaningful difference by providing nutritious meals that support the health and well-being of our residents.
