Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic PCA/ Cook to join our dedicated care team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while preparing nutritious meals that meet individual dietary needs. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring food safety standards are met Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, reporting findings to nursing staff as needed Support residents with memory care needs, including those with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, using specialized techniques to promote safety and comfort Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to prevent injury for both residents and staff Maintain a clean and organized environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and kitchen spaces Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding residents' condition and needs Experience Previous experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, and geriatrics is essential Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid/CPR certification is required Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care in home or community settings is advantageous Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely for transportation purposes if needed Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is a plus Shifts needed PCA 7a-3p PCA 3p-11p PCA 11p-7a Dietary aide 7a-6:30p Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every resident feels respected, supported, and cared for.
