Line Cook/Prep Cook Pocha Chapel Hill, NC Job Details Part-time | Full-time $17 - $25 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Paid training Qualifications Asian cuisine Pre-cooking preparation Teamwork Attention to detail Full Job Description Job Overview An up-and-coming Korean and pan-Asian pub concept is hiring all BOH positions, including Line Cook and Prep Cooks to join our kitchen team. The menu will focus mainly on Korean street food classics, but there will be significant room for seasonal specials that draw from food traditions across east and southeast Asian cuisines. Knowledge of these cuisines is a big plus, but not required as we expect to be training our kitchen team members who may not be familiar with the cuisines. Good communication and a teamwork-oriented mindset will be paramount. This bar & restaurant is an equal opportunity employer. Skills & Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and specifications Work well in a fast-paced kitchen and with potentially hazardous equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, slicers, mixers, and other appliances Be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools to ensure compliance with food safety standards Attention to detail and follow proper food handling procedures to prevent (cross) contamination, guest dietary restrictions, and ensure the quality and safety of food and service Help check and store kitchen deliveries for accuracy and freshness/integrity of product Line cooks will be expected prep and keep their assigned station stocked for the next shift and report low stock of larger projects to the sous chef and chef. Larger prep-ahead projects will fall under the responsibility of the prep team and chef. All cooks will be cross trained over time to ensure both depth and breadth of kitchen/culinary knowledge Willingness to help teammates (including dish) on busy days to keep kitchen operations moving smoothly See something, say something - report issues in food/service to the chefs and be ready/willing to make adjustments to improvements in food/service Join us to be part of a unique culinary concept not seen elsewhere in Chapel Hill.
