The Willows (Fletcher, NC) at Red Oak Recovery is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just outside of Asheville N.C. We provide a trauma-informed clinical addiction treatment center for adult women. We strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment where women can focus on their recovery and begin a journey to a new chapter in their lives. Our kitchen staff provides nutritious and exciting dishes inspired by cultures from around the world. We take great pride in feeding our clients well. We are seeking a PRN Cook to add to our dynamic team! The right candidate will be personable and dependable and must be comfortable working as part of a team. This position is responsible for the preparation of approximately 10 meals a week, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 20-85 people. Our Food Services Department is an important part of our program. From making a client feel welcome with their first meal, supporting each clients' dietary needs, to offering thoughtful holiday meals and providing classes to share the joy of cooking. Responsibilities Provide general support to the daily flow of food service operations, including food prep, cleaning, and preparation of special projects from harvests Coordination with staff to ensure client and staff have properly accommodated meals Provide organizational and systems support for the kitchen in order to improve efficiency and uphold proper safety and sanitation Teach hands-on cooking classes, as needed Direct leadership and guidance of kitchen apprentices Minimum Qualifications Experience in food service or a related field Knowledge of food sanitation practices required Must be SERV Safe Certified Must be able to lift 40 lbs. comfortably Preferred Qualifications Organized and attentive to detail Responsible, punctual and personable Red Oak Recovery does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factor.
