Job Description
Position Overview Season's at Highland Lake is looking for a skilled and dependable Grill Cook (Cook II) to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate takes pride in consistently preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment. Responsibilities include executing grilled meats, seafood, and other menu items to proper temperatures and presentation standards, maintaining a clean and organized station, completing daily prep and production, following recipes and portion standards, and working closely with the rest of the kitchen team to ensure smooth service. We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, a good sense of urgency, and a commitment to quality, cleanliness, and hospitality. This is a full time position with full employee benefits, to include sick pay, vacation pay and simple IRA with 3% matching. Set schedule with 2 days off in a row. Schedule will be 1pm to close - Wednesday through Sunday. Key Responsibilities. Culinary Execution & Quality Execute assigned station responsibilities with a high level of consistency, accuracy, and efficiency. Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, flavor, and presentation across all dishes. Follow established recipes, portioning, and plating standards to ensure consistency. Assist with preparation and execution for à la carte service and special events as needed. Prep & Production Support Complete daily prep lists and production tasks accurately and on time. Support efficient service by maintaining station readiness throughout service. Communicate product needs, shortages, or quality concerns to kitchen leadership promptly. Kitchen Operations & Teamwork Work collaboratively with fellow cooks, chefs, and support staff to ensure smooth service flow. Support junior cooks by modeling proper technique, organization, and kitchen discipline. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation at all times. Safety, Sanitation & Standards Adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards. Properly handle, label, store, and rotate food products. Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues as needed. Qualifications Prior experience as a line cook in a scratch kitchen; fine dining or upscale casual experience preferred. Strong technical cooking skills, including proficiency with sauté and hot-line execution. Solid understanding of kitchen organization, prep methods, and service timing. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment. Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards.
