Job Description
Cook Full-Time | Part-Time | All Shifts Available We are seeking a dependable and skilled Cook to prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents in accordance with established menus, dietary requirements, and food safety standards. This role is essential to resident satisfaction, nutrition, and overall quality of care. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in preparing quality food and understands the importance of consistency, sanitation, and teamwork in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities Prepare meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders Ensure meals are prepared and served on time and in appropriate portions Prepare food for therapeutic and special diets as directed Review menus and diet changes prior to meal preparation Assist with meal service, substitutions, and special events as needed Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas Follow infection control, food safety, and sanitation standards Monitor food supplies and report needs to Food Services Director Complete required documentation and reports Adhere to HIPAA and resident confidentiality requirements Qualifications Prior cooking experience preferred, healthcare or long-term care experience a plus Ability to prepare food in large quantities Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow menus, recipes, and dietary instructions Dependable, organized, and team-oriented Ability to communicate effectively in English Physical Requirements Standing for extended periods Lifting, bending, and moving kitchen equipment and supplies Working in warm kitchen environments Exposure to food service equipment and cleaning chemicals Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
