Job Description

Piedmont Crossing is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community where compassionate team members and vibrant residents come together to create a meaningful living experience. Located in beautiful Davidson County, North Carolina, our licensed Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) has been serving older adults with excellence for more than 35 years. We provide a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care, allowing residents to thrive at every stage of aging.

Join Our Culinary TeamWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to help create nutritious, delicious meals that enhance the lives of our residents. In this role, you will prepare and serve high-quality food while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service. You will also provide guidance and support to Food Service Aides during your shift to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare meals and food items according to established recipes, menus, and dietary requirements.

Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion control standards are met.

Assist with supervising and training Food Service Aides during assigned shifts.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.

Follow all food safety and infection control procedures.

Monitor inventory and report supply needs as appropriate.

Support a positive dining experience for residents and staff.

QualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or GED required.

ExperienceSix months of food preparation experience in a restaurant, healthcare, hospital, or institutional setting preferred.

Experience in long-term care, senior living, or healthcare environments is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesServSafe Food Protection Manager certification preferred.

Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.

Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Creativity and passion for food preparation.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team while serving residents with dignity and respect.
