Description:
This position is responsible for preparing meals at our Lidgerwood location and serving the meal according to the menu plan in a timely manner, while maintaining a cleanly kitchen and serving area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to: Prepare and serve the daily noon meal. Prepare the day's menu according to the menu plan and package meals for meals on wheels and carry out meals, all in a timely matter. Cleanup of meal preparation and serving area. Clean meal preparation and serving areas according to health standards, follow a monthly, weekly, and daily cleaning schedule on kitchen equipment.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Evaluation of this position may also be based on occasional performance of the following other functions, which include, but are not limited to: Supervision of volunteers. Responsible for finding and scheduling meals on wheels volunteers. Order food and kitchen supplies. Order all food and paper product items according to menu plan, responsible for accurate inventory of all ordered items. Review monthly menu according to USDA and Aging Services guidelines. Collaborate with supervisor about the monthly menus and ensure that each day meets the nutritional guidelines per USDA and Aging Services. Assist with registration for congregate and carry out meals. Assist with completion of annual assessments for congregate and carry out meals. Complete daily receipting of meal program income and prepare deposit Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel. Performs related duties as assigned or apparent. Day hours, No nights or weekends
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a restaurant or food service setting preferred.
CREDENTIALS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license.
