Job Description
Overview The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing and organizing ingredients and food products to support efficient and timely kitchen operations. This position follows established recipes, preparation methods, portioning standards, and food safety procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality products. The Prep Cook works closely with the culinary team to maintain properly stocked workstations, accurate food preparation, cleanliness, and an overall safe and organized kitchen environment. This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00 - $20.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until December 11,2026 Responsibilities Responsible for preparing high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests. Prepare mise en place for hot and cold food items according to company recipes and daily prep lists. Wash, peel, chop, slice, and measure fruits, vegetables, and meats according to recipes and daily prep lists. Label, date, and store all food items properly using the FIFO (first-in, first-out) method. Set up and stock workstations with the necessary tools and ingredients before service. Perform initial cooking steps like parboiling and reducing sauces. Monitor stock levels and report low items or waste to the Chef or Kitchen Manager. Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of product. Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance. Qualifications Previous experience in a professional kitchen, restaurant, hospitality, catering, concessions, or food service environment preferred. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and culinary terminology. Ability to follow recipes, preparation instructions, portioning guidelines, and daily prep lists accurately. Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures. Ability to safely use knives, kitchen equipment, and other food preparation tools. Ability to work efficiently and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and culinary leadership. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple preparation tasks. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days as required. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with kitchen operations, including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the kitchen.
