Galley Hatch Restaurant is looking for an experienced and dependable Grill Cook to join our culinary team! A Seacoast favorite for generations, Galley Hatch is known for quality food, great hospitality, and a fast-paced restaurant environment. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working a busy grill station, takes pride in their food, and understands the importance of consistency, timing, and teamwork. What You'll Do As a Grill Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing and executing grilled menu items while maintaining Galley Hatch standards for quality, consistency, presentation, and food safety.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare and cook steaks, burgers, chicken, seafood, vegetables, and other grilled menu items according to established recipes and specifications Cook proteins accurately to requested temperatures and guest specifications Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked grill station Complete necessary prep work before and throughout service Maintain consistency in portioning, seasoning, cooking, and presentation Manage multiple orders at once while maintaining accuracy and proper cooking times Coordinate with other kitchen stations to ensure complete orders are prepared and served together Communicate effectively with other members of the culinary and front-of-house teams Follow proper food handling, sanitation, labeling, dating, storage, and product rotation procedures Monitor product levels and communicate prep or stocking needs to kitchen leadership Minimize food waste through proper preparation, portioning, storage, and handling Safely operate grills, charbroilers, ovens, fryers, knives, slicers, and other commercial kitchen equipment Maintain a clean and safe workstation throughout the shift Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, and sanitation responsibilities Support other kitchen stations and team members as needed during busy service periods What We're Looking For Previous grill cook, line cook, or comparable restaurant kitchen experience preferred Experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment is a plus Strong understanding of grilling techniques and proper protein temperatures Ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracy Strong knife and food preparation skills Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices Ability to remain organized and efficient during busy service periods Dependable, punctual, and committed to being part of a team Strong communication skills and attention to detail Positive attitude and willingness to learn Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Join Galley Hatch At Galley Hatch Restaurant , great food starts with a strong kitchen team.
