Job Description

Throwback Brewery is looking for experienced line and prep cooks to join our team. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain new skills while working in a "from scratch" kitchen. We make all of our sauces, bread, sausage, desserts, and more! Since we are on a working farm and prioritize sustainability in everything we do, we are an ideal place for environmentally-conscious folks passionate about cooking with local ingredients. Key Responsibilities:
Set up and stock food items and other necessary supplies. Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage. Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift. Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs. Answer, report and follow Head Chef instructions Cleans up station and take care of leftover food Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Other tasks as assigned by the
Head Chef Qualifications/Experience:
One year of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook Certificate in Culinary Arts a plus Familiar with industry best practices Basic written and verbal communication skills Accuracy and speed in executing tasks Ability to work as a team member Follows directions and instructions Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Alignment with Throwback's company values (see "Jobs" page on our website) Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Ability to move and transport boxes, kegs, and objects up to 50 lbs.
