ABOUT SOOK PASTRY

Sook is a French bakery and café in the heart of Ridgewood, NJ. We make everything from scratch — laminated doughs, tarts, éclairs, and a crêpe grill station that guests watch from their seats. Our space is small, intentional, and warm. We are not a chain. Every person on our team has a direct hand in the experience our guests have. We are looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of hospitality and craft — someone who is comfortable performing, loves talking to people, and takes pride in making something beautiful in real time. Who this is probably not for: Line cooks who prefer heads-down kitchen work away from guests People who want to cook only and skip the register, coffee, or customer interaction Anyone who is not comfortable being watched while they work

THE ROLE

This is not a back-of-house cook position. You will work the crêpe station in our dining room — an open grill station in full view of our guests. As part of our Font of House team, you will also pull espresso drinks, take orders, run the register, re-stock, clean-up and cross-train across our full menu. You are the face of the crêpe program. If you love cooking and love people — and you are energized by the idea of doing both at the same time — this role was written for you. Crêpe Station Execute sweet and savory crêpes on an open griddle in the dining room, in front of guests Maintain the crêpe station: mise en place, cleanliness, and presentation standards Engage with guests at the bar — explain the menu, answer questions, make recommendations Learn and consistently execute our full crêpe menu, both sweet and savory Coffee & Beverages Pull espresso shots, steam milk, and prepare specialty drinks to Sook standards Cross-train on our full beverage menu so you can work the coffee bar when not on crêpes Floor & Team Take orders and operate the register (Square POS) Learn our full menu — pastry, viennoiserie, crêpes, and beverages — so you can represent it all Maintain shared responsibility for cleanliness and shift handoff standards Be a warm, knowledgeable presence for every guest who walks in

WHO YOU ARE

What we're looking for: ✓ Comfortable cooking in front of an audience ✓ Naturally warm and guest-facing ✓ Barista experience preferred (will train the right person) ✓ Calm and precise under pressure ✓ Not afraid of a griddle or live fire ✓ Takes pride in craft and presentation ✓ Curious about food, coffee, and French pastry ✓ A team player who owns their station ✓ Some café or hospitality experience ✓ Excited to learn a full menu, not just one station

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$18.00 - $22.00, including tips.
