The Sauté Cook will work closely with the Chef and kitchen team to ensure all dishes are cooked to order, properly seasoned, consistently portioned, and presented according to our standards. The ideal candidate is experienced, organized, fast, and comfortable working in a high-volume restaurant environment. Responsibilities Prepare and cook sautéed menu items according to our recipes and standards. Operate and maintain the sauté station efficiently throughout service. Cook proteins, vegetables, sauces, and other hot menu components to proper temperatures and specifications. Maintain consistent portion sizes, seasoning, cooking times, and presentation. Read and prioritize tickets accurately during busy service. Communicate with the Chef and kitchen team regarding ticket timing and special requests. Properly prepare and organize the sauté station before service. Maintain adequate mise en place throughout the shift. Monitor food quality, freshness, and cooking temperatures. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation. Properly store, label, date, and rotate ingredients. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements. Assist with prep and other kitchen duties before and after service as needed. Help maintain kitchen equipment and report any issues to management. Work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Qualifications Previous sauté or line-cook experience preferred. Strong knowledge of sautéing techniques and cooking methods. Good knife skills and understanding of kitchen terminology. Ability to consistently follow recipes and plating standards. Ability to work quickly and accurately during high-volume service. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment. Ability to safely lift and carry kitchen supplies. Reliable, punctual, and professional. Culinary school or formal training is a plus but not required.
