BASIC PURPOSE

Incumbent is responsible for food preparation, equipment maintenance, and sanitation in the Food and Beverage Department.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare, cook, and distribute food items.
  • Maintain proper sanitation of entire kitchen.
  • Answer guests' questions and provide information as requested.
  • Communicate supply needs to Food & Beverage Shift Supervisor.
  • Must be proficient in reading, speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • Maintain professional hygiene and appearance.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete required training.
  • Must perform all work functions in accordance with the Casino Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Integrity / Honesty All San Felipe Casino team members must operate in an ethical manner by following all San Felipe Casino policies and procedures relating to cash transactions, handling, tracking, and proper behavior between staff and guests. Incumbent must conduct oneself above the appearance of doing something wrong.
  • Guest Service Develop a clear understanding of guests' needs and goals while maintaining clear communication with guest regarding meeting their expectations. Must follow though and respond to guests' requests and inform them of action taken in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Teamwork Work effectively with division members and members of other divisions to resolve common issues or problems as well as listening and seeking others' perspective on how to complete assignments. Keeps others informed and up to date about tasks, progress, or projects.
  • Flexibility Incumbent in this position must be able to accept rapid change in job assignments, schedules, or priorities.
  • Listening Incumbents in this position must be able to understand auditory messages and non-verbal cues to derive meaning from spoken material. Requires the ability to remain attentive.
  • Effort and Initiative Incumbents in this position must have the ability to work and act without specific direction and without being monitored.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in food preparation in a restaurant, kitchen, or dining area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work is performed in the kitchen area with exposure to heat, fumes, and steam.

Lifting large hot and cold trays required lifting up to 25 pounds. Prolonged standing and walking is required.
