Mission Focused. Solution Driven. About the Role Cook for the Soldiers training at Fort Bliss and the Doña Ana Range Complex. You will prepare and cook meals in volume from standardized recipes in a fully equipped field dining facility, working alongside an experienced crew on a defined production schedule. What You'll Do Prepare and cook entrees, sides, soups, and starches from recipe cards and the daily production schedule Operate ovens, tilt skillets, steam kettles, griddles, and fryers safely and efficiently Batch cook to demand so food reaches the serving line hot, on time, and at the right quality Record cooking, cooling, and holding temperatures and follow HACCP and TB Med 530 requirements Keep the cooking area, equipment, and food storage clean, organized, and inspection-ready What You Bring 2+ years of cooking experience in a high-volume setting — military dining facility, institutional kitchen, hospital, school, or large restaurant Working knowledge of standardized recipes, portion control, and food safety practices Ability to stand for a full shift and lift up to 50 lbs Must be 18 years of age or older (U.S. Government contract requirement) Ability to speak, read, and write English Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain military installation access (valid ID and clean police record within the last 12 months) Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and five-panel drug screen and receive a Hepatitis A immunization before start Availability for rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays — the facility operates 7 days a week, earliest shift 3:30 AM Local candidates in the El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM area strongly preferred What We Offer Hourly pay: $22.49 per hour Overtime at 1.5x your base rate over 40 hours in a workweek, plus paid federal holidays Uniforms, PPE, non-slip footwear, and all required food handler training provided at no cost to you Anticipated start: late September 2026; assignment runs through 20 November 2026 Additional Information Position is contingent upon contract award.
