Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Cook to be responsible for the preparation and service of high quality school student meals. This includes prepping ingredients, cooking items, and cleaning the kitchen throughout the day. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, able to multitask in a busy kitchen and has prior kitchen experience. The hours are 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, , Monday through Friday (no weekends). Prepare student meals and assist front end staff with making made-to-order meals Perform cleaning duties such as washing dishes, pots and pans, wiping counters, cleaning kitchen area, equipment etc. Ensure food safety standards are met and followed Receive and store food items according to Department of Health, safety and sanitation guidelines Monitor food temperatures and quality throughout the cooking process Ensure kitchen is properly stocked with food supplies Assist with cash register as necessary Qualifications & Education High school diploma or equivalent. ServSafe certification preferred Two years of hands-on experience with commercial kitchen equipment, ability to measure ingredients and follow recipes, and adhere to food safety guidelines Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools Able to lift up to 50 pounds An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer Veterans and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply #
