Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every plate. Oversee food safety sanitizing procedures, ensuring all equipment and workspaces meet health regulations. Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to optimize flavor profiles and presentation. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, poaching stations, braising pots, and food preparation tools safely and effectively. Maintain accurate food handling practices, including proper knife skills and portion control, to minimize waste. Support training of team members on food safety management, recipe adherence, and high-volume production techniques. Skills Proven experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, catering, or restaurant service with a focus on food preparation and food safety. Strong culinary skills including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation with an emphasis on fine dining standards. Extensive knowledge of operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in high-volume environments. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety. Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and food production management. Background in dietary department operations or dietary aide experience is a plus. Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment focused on quality service.
