Butter Beans provides nutritious, wholesome meals for charter schools, private schools, and summer camps throughout the New York City and tri-state area. Butter Beans seeks like minded individuals to support our commissary kitchen team. This position of Line Cook reports to the company's management.

Schedule:

Wednesday - Sunday Start time from 8:00am-10:00 am; Shift ends between 4:00pm - 5:00pm 30-35 hours a week

Corona, Queens Responsibilities:

Assisting in properly heating up prepared food. Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Ensure the proper portioning, presentation, and garnishing of dishes. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Assist in inventory control by tracking and replenishing food supplies as needed. Assist in meeting the culinary needs of different outlets as required. Minimize food wastage by using ingredients efficiently. Ability to follow systems and processes that are put in place to achieve efficient operations. Completes work in a timely manner.

Physical Effort:

Work involves light to moderate physical effort such as lifting or moving objects, continuous standing, bending and walking. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Requirements:

A Food Handlers Card from the New York Department of Health with a strong understanding of food safety procedures is a plus. Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
