Job Summary Becker Farms is looking for a dependable, positive Part-Time Cook to join our team for the busy fall season. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to pick up extra hours, earn some holiday spending money, or work a flexible seasonal schedule. The role will focus on short-order, quick-service cooking , especially on weekends, with additional weekday hours available based on your availability. We're flexible and happy to work around school, retirement schedules, other jobs, or family commitments. What we're looking for: Positive attitude and strong work ethic Dependable and willing to learn Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Team player who can jump in where needed No experience necessary — we're happy to train the right person This is a temporary, part-time position , with the busiest hours through the fall season and hours gradually diminishing after November. Perfect for students, retirees, anyone looking for a second job, or someone who wants to make a little extra money before the holidays. Pay ranges from $17-$21/hour depending on experience and availability. Come work with a fun team in a busy, energetic farm environment — and make some extra holiday cash while you're at it! Responsibilities Prepare ingredients through precise chopping, slicing, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Cook menu items according to established recipes, food safety standards, and quality specifications. Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, fryers, mixers, and food processors safely and efficiently. Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily specials or catering events. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold health standards and ensure a safe kitchen environment. Follow food handling procedures meticulously to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety management. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff through clear communication to coordinate meal preparation and service times. Skills Proven experience in food service or restaurant kitchens with a strong foundation in culinary techniques. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food handling regulations. Skilled in food preparation, including slicing, dicing, portioning, and recipe adherence. Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide roles is a plus. Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment.
