ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Summary As Southdown Coffee's line cook you are a critical member of our kitchen team! You and your fellow cooks will be responsible for organizing and cleaning your station, cooking food to order, prepping food and sauces and cleaning and turning down your station at the end of service. We cultivate a friendly, forward thinking environment and our main focus is to provide customers with delicious, high quality products using the finest seasonal ingredients and latest techniques. Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, to develop skills and work with the culinary leadership team to create menus which reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant. General Accountabilities Prepare all food items as directed and printed on ticket, in a sanitary and timely manner Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by Southdown Coffee Have understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station Perform opening, closing & side duties

• setting up, stocking, and breaking down all kitchen equipment and prep Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, line and dish area Practice safety and sanitation standards Inspect food preparation to maintain quality standards Demonstrate impeccable product knowledge Ensure all products are stored per company protocol to maintain quality standards Has excellent time management and organization skills Ensure top notch quality of products for our customers Contribute to a positive team environment Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products Maintain regular and punctual attendance Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the executive chef •The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Job Qualifications Previous line cook experience preferred Active food handler's certification or the ability to get it Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts Standing or moving, for long periods of time General knowledge of all safety & sanitation standards Demonstrates a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency Has a desire to exceed expectations Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as a team Level-headed and proficient in a high volume, fast-paced environment Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job Skills Excellent verbal and written communication Monitoring Coordination Time management Active learning Judgment and decision making Benefits & Perks Paid Time Off
