Job Description

Job Summary Our popular and well established pub style restaurant is seeking experienced line cooks. We feature a broad menu that includes specialty salads, great burgers, steaks, pasta, wild caught salmon, in house produced soups and sauces, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian selections. We serve lunch and dinner daily. Your job will be to help us produce and serve high quality foods that keeps customers coming back. There are no early mornings or late nights. Responsibilities and Duties You will be expected to prep scratch recipes, prepare ingredients for service, stock and maintain work stations. In addition prepare orders for service as they arrive in the kitchen in a timely fashion following the company's plating standards. You will be expected to maintain workplace and food safety standards, aid in the general operation of the business ie: storing food and supplies as received, clean and maintain equipment and facilities. You will be expected to work in an economical fashion to minimize waste and trim, maintain stock rotation for freshness and quality. As a line cook you will keep pace during service while maintaining all quality standards and work as a team member to enhance the customer's experience. You will participate in the development and testing of new and/or revised menu creations. Qualifications and Skills We will be considering those who have a least two (2) years experience in a lunch and dinner full service restaurant. Must be able to read in English. Broiler, saute and fryer experience preferred. Knife skills, familiarity with kitchen machinery; slicer, Buffalo chopper, protein cuber, mixer and attachments etc. Workplace and food safety practices are essential. Able to take direction in both written and verbal forms, remain composed and be a team player. This is a year round, full time position.
