Join Our Team The Hereafter is looking for an experienced line cook. We are small team built on mutual respect, collaboration, and focused on excellent results. We are looking for someone who wants to jump in, have some fun, and focus on preparing and serving delicious food. This position will include cooking on the line, assisting with prep, and dishwashing. This position requires an applicant that is motivated and willing to learn. As well as the ability to take direction from management and work with service staff to ensure a smooth and successful guest experience. In addition to this, it is encouraged to think creatively and offer your insights and opinions on menu items, food related issues and work methods as they arise. Candidates must have solid personal presentation and interpersonal skills. Your daily responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies. Prepare food for service Preservation, pickling, & canning Washing and preparing of produce, herbs & fruit Cleaning and preparing of meat, fish & dairy Carrying out recipes for baking, sauces, dressings, etc. Answer, report to, and follow executive or sous chef's instructions Completing and writing prep lists Keep station clean throughout shift and properly handle closing of your station General daily cleaning & organizing of the kitchen areas Stock inventory appropriately, and inform the chef or management of any shortages Work with a sense of purpose and urgency Ensure that food comes out consistently, with high quality preparation and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Assist guests with questions and concerns or direct them to a staff member who can Communicate effectively and frequently with management, staff, and guests
Ideal Experience:
Proven cooking experience Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Ability to lift and move up to 50+ Ibs and stand for extended periods Ability to read and write in English An interest in beverage, food, and hospitality and the desire to learn Reports to Management
