Job Description
Lyon by Duck Island Bread Company is a French-inspired café celebrating the cuisine, bread, and traditions of the Lyon region of France. We serve breakfast and lunch daily using high-quality ingredients, classic techniques, and scratch-made preparations. We are seeking dependable, organized, and passionate Line Cooks who takes pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and teamwork. Responsibilities Prepare breakfast and lunch menu items according to established recipes and standards. Set up, stock, and maintain an organized station for service. Execute orders accurately and efficiently during busy service periods. Prepare sauces, soups, vegetables, proteins, and other mise en place from scratch. Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety. Monitor product quality and communicate inventory needs. Work closely with chefs and fellow team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Assist with receiving, rotating, and properly storing deliveries. Help maintain a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen culture. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional line cooking experience preferred. Experience with breakfast, brunch, or French cuisine is a plus. Strong knife skills and understanding of classic cooking techniques. Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure. Reliable, punctual, and committed to excellence. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Availability to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.
