•Recovery Campus in Massena, NY and North Country Freedom Home in Canton, NY Position available:

Full-time Cook Shift/schedule:

Friday-Saturday / 8a-4:30pm at Recovery Campus

•Massena and Sunday-Monday / 8a-4:30pm at NCFH

Canton Pay Range:

$17.00/hour to $21.00/hour

Position Summary:

The Dietary Cook works under the supervision of the Program Director/ Designee. In assisting residents to become accustomed to the residence routine and encourages them to participate in social and recreational activities to promote recovery. Performs food service and preparation activities in accordance with SJATRC's policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Education and Training:

High School Graduate or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, including knowledge of population. CPR certification.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Work experience relevant to degree and certification requirements. Is trustworthy in safeguarding confidential information Maintains and pursues continued professional education.

Essential Duties:

Executes high-quality food preparation to meet menu standards. Ensures compliance with safety and cleanliness regulations. Monitors inventory, reports discrepancies, and tracks usage trends. Prepares nutritious and appealing meals as directed. Maintains overall cleanliness of the kitchen, coolers, storerooms, and dining areas. Organizes coolers and storerooms in preparation for incoming deliveries. Plans, prepares, and packs meals for scheduled day trips. Assists on-duty cooks with meal preparation and special events as needed. Reports any resident concerns to the Food Services Director or appropriate clinical staff. Oversees the setup, breakdown, and execution of dietary services for training sessions. Communicates effectively with staff and residents. Provides guidance to assigned residents on performing their duties correctly. Orients new residents to the facility, local area, and available community resources. Supports residents in their personal growth and sobriety while assisting with milieu management. Takes appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and the facility. Performs other duties as assigned.
