Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. This position is essential in providing nutritious meals that meet the needs of our clients. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to standardized recipes. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and handling regulations. Assist in the planning and execution of menus, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with the Dietary Department to meet specific nutritional needs of clients. Utilize kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools. Help train and mentor Dietary Aides or junior kitchen staff as needed. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report shortages to management.
Requirements:
Skills Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a dietary department or similar setting. Proficiency in meal preparation techniques and culinary skills. Ability to effectively use kitchen tools, including knives, with precision and care. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation. Strong communication skills to work collaboratively within a team setting. Flexibility to adapt to changing menus or dietary requirements as needed.
