SUNY Morrisville is seeking a visionary leader with the experience, student affairs knowledge and interpersonal skills to be a strong advocate for students and the Division of Student Affairs. The Vice President for Student Affairs will report directly to the President and serve as a member of the President's Cabinet. They work closely with the College's staff and faculty to develop and promote a campus culture focused on student success in a safe and welcoming campus environment. The incoming Vice President for Student Affairs will be charged with leading an inclusive and participatory effort to develop a strategic vision for the Division of Student Affairs. Key priorities for the new Vice President for Student Affairs include: Advocating for students and for the Student Affairs Division. The Vice President will embrace the opportunity to champion the work of the Division. The new Vice President will pursue opportunities to set a direction for the Division that prioritizes collaborating and communicating across campus. Partnering with the Provost to enhance collaboration across divisions. A strong relationship between the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Provost is essential in promoting student success, as well as student life programs that support the academic goals of the institution. Applying strategic planning, assessment and communication skills to evaluate Divisional needs and goals. The incoming Vice President for Student Affairs is expected to provide vision in the leadership of all Student Affairs functions. A top priority will be implementing a participative process to develop a shared vision for the direction of the Division. The role will provide overall strategic direction, leadership, administration and management of the Student Affairs division, which consists of the following departments: Athletics. At SUNY Morrisville, the total college experience should be a balance of activities both in and out of the classroom. For many, sports are as much a part of college as academics. We offer the opportunity for students to get involved in a variety of intercollegiate and intramural activities. Morrisville is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and fields 17 intercollegiate athletic teams. Residence Life. A comfortable living environment is an important factor in the success of any college student. You'll find a range of residence halls at SUNY Morrisville, including double rooms, suites, apartments with full kitchens, single rooms and quiet-study halls. Student Activities. The Student Activities Office offers a variety of academic, cultural, recreational and social programs, events and opportunities for students to participate in at SUNY Morrisville. The student activities include more than 30 clubs, 10 organizations, intramurals, open recreation, theater, music and numerous events and services implemented throughout the Student Government Organization (SGO) and the Campus Activities Board (CAB). Events and programs offer alcohol- and drug-free alternatives for students.
